More Than Just a Crazy Crystal Lady

First blog post! I hate talking about myself. I’d much rather ask you about astral travel and ways to communicate with fairies. Other people sell crystals, sure. Why is Midtown Mage different? This intro and our monthly HighVibes Blog are well overdue. Stay with me friends – its time to get weird together and share our story!

Midtown Mage.

How did we land on this name and what does it mean to us? Most of you guess the meaning of the first word. Midtown, yes as in Midtown Harrisburg. This part of Harrisburg City will always have our hearts. Any OG friends out there probably remember my beertending years at Zeroday Brewing Co. Midtown Tavern was where my husband and I had our first date. Saturdays at the Broad Street Market grabbing beers at The Outpost with a big plate of rice and beans from Ougis Cocina.

The word Mage [pronounced māj] is someone who practices magic – think Sorcerer, Necromancer, Wizard, Witch. I honestly found the perfect definition (thanks Interwebs!): a magician or learned person: "a mage cooked up potions to make the archer a better hunter" · "she is supposedly the most powerful mage in the kingdom.”

Mom, wife, friend, witchy, and weird. I grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA, and never strayed too far from my hometown. I was introduced to crystals about 16 years ago through a guided Angel Meditation I attended. Rose Quartz was the one that set it off and my love and interest grew from there.

Tim.

Stepdad, husband, gardener, hunter, book reader. He grew up in Lancaster City (McCaskey grad) and attributes his love of gardening, herbs, and natural remedies to his grandmother. Thanks to Tinder (yes, we swiped right! Lol) and the Universe, I was able to meet my best friend and build this awesome life together.

Midtown Mage is all about positive vibes, creating sacred spaces, and transforming your home into an energetic oasis. Think of it as sprinkling a little magic on the space around you. Your home should be your sanctuary. A place with high vibrations, peaceful energy, a space that gives you a sense of calm and joy. Crystals, incense, energy cleansing sprays – these are must haves in our home and tools for creating positive energy and transmuting negative energy. Sharing our love of everyday magic is the “why” behind Midtown Mage.

Midtown Mage takes great care in ensuring that the crystals we offer are quality graded, ethically sourced, and from another trusted small business. Every time you purchase a crystal from us, you will know the crystal grade (A – good quality, noticeable imperfections; AA – high quality, some minor imperfections; AAA – Collector’s grade, flawless crystal) and what part of the world it was ethically sourced from (i.e., Peru, Brazil, Madagascar).

We energetically cleanse the crystals and do our very best to ensure it’s a high vibe piece from the jump. My curiosity keeps me wanting to learn more about each and every crystal we offer to our customers and passing that knowledge onto you.

MIDTOWN MAGE IS STARTING OUR OWN INCENSE LINE! Not to be dramatic, but I am ridiculously excited and obsessed with this project. Incense has long been a daily part of my home – used to get the vibes right and create everyday magic throughout our space. After several months of research and planning, we are in the production phase of Mystic Scents.

The fragrance oil we use for our incense is phthalate free, skin safe, vanillin free, and purchased from another trusted small business. Mystic Scents by Midtown Mage will offer hand dipped, small batch incense sticks and cones. Follow us on social media for updates!
